A List of Parish Clerks of the Parish of Chisleborough, Copied from the Register

Roger Langdon, Doctor of Music, and Clerk of the Parish of Chisleborough, in the county of Somerset, from the year 1769 to 1791. 1769.
22 years.
His son, James Langdon, held the Clerkship from 1791 until 1822. 1791.
31 years.
Edward Langdon, grandson of Roger, held the office from 1822 until 1871, also Organist. (Father of the subject of memoir.) 1822.
49 years.
Edward Langdon, great grandson of Roger, was also Parish Clerk and Organist from 1871 until 1885. 1871.
14 years.
Peter Langdon next held this same position and died recently. Great-great-grandson of Roger Langdon. 1885.
