The gospel from Mark, section ii. Chap. i.
At that time Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him. And there was a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
And the deacon saith the ectenia.
In peace let us pray to the Lord.
For the peace that is from above....
For the peace of the whole world....
For this holy temple....
For the Most Holy Governing Synod....
For our Most Pious, Autocratic Great Lord, THE EMPEROR ALEXANDER ALEXANDROVITCH of all Russia; and for His Consort, the Most Pious Lady, THE EMPRESS MARIA THEODOROVNA.
