Then again the priest saith to him,

Hast thou joined Christ?

And he answereth, I have joined.

And again he saith, Dost thou believe in him?

And he saith, I believe in him, as King and God.

And he saith,

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, who was begotten of the Father before all ages. Light of Light, very God of very God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father, by whom all things were made. Who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from the heavens, and was incarnate of the Holy Ghost and the Virgin Mary, and was made man; And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried, and rose again the third day, according to the scriptures; And ascended into the heavens, and sitteth at the right hand of the Father; And shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, of whose kingdom there shall be no end. And in the Holy Ghost, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceedeth from the Father, who with the Father and the Son is together worshipped and glorified, who spake by the prophets. In one, holy, catholic, and apostolic church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead; And the life in the ages to come. Amen.

And when he hath finished the holy symbol, he also again saith to him,

Hast thou joined Christ?
