Ellen stopped to laugh.

"I told him yes. And then I thought he seemed so very pleased."
"Dreamers do not always keep close to the truth, it seems."
"I didn't," said Ellen. "But then I thought I had, in my dream."

"Dreams are queer things," said Alice.
