Our plans and his were totally unsuited:
So Colonel Hare, as did of old, Mahomet,
Call’d for his boots, and flar’d up like a comet.
“Meanwhile Sandeli, who’s a lad of metal,
Swore that the sappers should not light a fire
To cook their dinners or to boil their kettle;
And so—denouncing on them vengeance dire,—
He bid them pack their tools and strike their tents,
