[62] Brompton Park was the retreat of one or two favourite actors. Mr. Webster, the talented and versatile performer, lessee of the Ade1phi Theatre, resided there for many years. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Mathews (Madame Vestris) lived at Gore Lodge—now pulled down—a name they afterwards gave to their residence at Fulham.
