Miracles a Proof of Divine Mission.
Now, when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples, and said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another? Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and show John again those things which ye do hear and see; the blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised. ([Mat. 11 : 2–5].)
Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God; for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. ([John 3 : 2].)
And Israel saw that great work which the Lord did upon the Egyptians; and the people feared the Lord and believed the Lord and his servant Moses. ([Ex. 14 : 31].)
Miracles Not a Proof of Divine Mission.
And Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants and it became a serpent. Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers.
