Collation: A-2C8, paged. Wanting 2C 8 (? blank). Epistle dedicatory to Henry Carey, Baron of Hunsdon, signed. Address to the reader signed W. W. Table of contents. Text in thirteen books. 'A Breuiate of the true Historic of Æneas' in prose as an addition to Bk. ii. Epitome of the history of England with address to the reader. The first part originally appeared in 1586. In the second edition, 1589, a second part was added. The third edition with continuation appeared in 1592. In 1596 appeared a fourth, revised and enlarged, which was re-issued with a new titlepage the following year. The present edition of 1602 was the fifth and was the first one containing all thirteen books. A 'Continuance' appeared in 1606 and was incorporated in the final edition of 1612, making sixteen books in all.
