Thus went they forth, and had but litel rest;
And some, her corage did hem sore assayle,
For very wrath, they did step over the rayle!
And as they sought hem-self thus to and fro,
I gat myself a litel avauntage;

Al for-weried, I might no further go,
Though I had won right greet, for my viage.
So com I forth into a strait passage,
