1 tablespoonful cloves.
2 ounces of turmeric.
1 ounce celery-seed.
2 pounds sugar.
2 tablespoonfuls salt.
Mix all well together, add one-half gallon good vinegar, and boil slowly twenty minutes. Take the seed out of the green pepper. Make late in the summer.—Mrs. R.
Hyden Salad.
1 gallon of finely chopped cabbage.
1½ gallon green tomatoes.
1 pint green peppers—½ pint will do.
