The whites of 8 eggs, beaten to a froth.
3 cups flour.
2 cups of sugar.
1 cup of butter, creamed with the sugar.
1 teaspoonful cream of tartar in the flour.
½ teaspoonful of soda in ½ cup sweet milk.
Beat all together, and bake in a mould or small pans. Season to taste. A little whisky or rum improves cake of all kinds.—Mrs. Dr. C.
