"The May Pen cyar" is a tramway which runs to May Pen, the cemetery of Kingston.

"Me no min dé," literally, "I not been there," I was not there. Nobody hearing these words for the first time would ever suspect that they were English. People are always said to "catch fight" when they come to blows.
Few of the old classical slave names like Pompey now survive.
