Gawane is led to the parapet,

And gawan, wich gart bryng hyme-ſelf befor

To the bertes, set he was vondit sore,

Whar the qwen vas, and whar that he mycht see

[1120] The manere of the oſt and aſſemble;

And when that he the gret manhed haith sen

and saith to the queen, that none ever did better than yon red knight.
