From cart to court, a countrye man to call,

With braue attyre to decke a dunghyll Dycke,

Is lyke a paynted image in a wall,

Which dooth deceiue, and seemeth to bee quicke,

Though woorkmanship most trimly dooth it tricke,

Yet of a stone, a stone wyll still remayne:

A clowne cannot from clownish deedes refrayne.
