This parody is much too long to give in full, as is also the following, on a similar topic, and which, by a curious coincidence, appeared in Truth exactly six years later:—

Paradise Lost.

This week a Peeress at the gate

Of Ascot stood disconsolate—

(The Royal Enclosure Gate is meant)

And as in misery she bent,
