Dr. Lardner’s Cyclopædia.

My name is Lardner, in St. Paul’s Churchyard

My Cyclopædia sells, a weighty book

Whose constant pages do increase my store

And keep their editor, myself, at home!

For I was born a janius, and I longed

For some two thousand pounds per annum, and

My book soon gave what Gower Street denied.
