Wanted, an Alderman, fitted to fill
His post in the City with competent skill.
If no judge of justice, a good judge of wine,
Who knows how to ride and who knows how to dine.
When needed to Time he must be in “the nick,”
And if he makes watches must not go on tick;
Who three times on Sundays to church does repair,
Who knows how to feather the nest of a mayor.
