The sweet of love as dearer than himself.

Who, were his passage stopped by sword and fire,

Would make way through, to compass his Desire.

For which he would (though heaven and earth forbad it)

Hazard to lose a kingdom, if he had it.

These be the things wherein I glory most,

Whereof, this my Accuser cannot boast:

Who was indifferent to his loss or gain;

And better pleased to fail, than to obtain.

All qualified affections, Love doth hate!
