ASLEEP
While mother birdlets murmur—“Peep!
Sleep, nestlings, sleep!”
And tired Margery’s flaxen head
Is resting on the cradle bed;
The babe, its white lids closed, afloat
In dreams, swings light in its fairy boat,
Sleep, nestlings, sleep.
