But it is a much doubted point whether the time is yet ripe for the birth of a political review in Esperanto.

Here, in England, we are at present hearing much of an inter-colonial policy, and it seems to us that there is only one sound policy for Esperantoland—an inter-Esperantist policy.

If all Esperantists will unite in purchasing the commercial products of Esperantists, we shall soon have a sound and broad foundation capable of bearing the weight of a structure, be it never so lofty. Opportunities are not far to seek. In The Esperantist attention has already been directed to many branches of commerce. Thus, for example, let us send our 2 or 3 francs to Bulgaria for the real attar of roses; or to Glasgow, for the good whiskey and cigarettes needed for Christmas cheer; for Esperanto shirts to keep us warm; for cakes bearing Esperanto mottoes to offer to our friends.

These and an endless supply of other necessaries can be used to help forward the Cause.

This suggestion forms a fitting close to the first part of The Esperantist’s career, and may the gazettes, in their new and enlarged form, experience the stimulus which would naturally result from its adoption.

Although no longer able to send greetings every month by a gazette which, from start to finish, has been to me a source of great pleasure, and (oh, tell it not in Gath) of pride also, I yet hope all Esperanto friends will retain kind thoughts of their enthusiastic fellow-thinker and fellow-worker,

H. Bolingbroke Mudie.

PREĜO SUB LA VERDA STANDARDO.

Himno de Dro Zamenhof.

Al Vi, ho potenca senkorpa mistero, Fortego la mondon reganta, Al Vi, granda fonto de l’ amo kaj vero, Kaj fonto de vivo konstanta, Al Vi, kiun ĉiuj malsame prezentas, Sed ĉiuj egale en koro Vin sentas, Al Vi, kiu kreas, al Vi kiu reĝas, Hodiaŭ ni preĝas.
