THE BELLE’S INVOCATION TO WINTER.

Winter, dear season of delights,

Of joyous days and brilliant nights!

Oh haste, on swiftest pinions haste,

For summer’s lingering hours are past,

And dreary Autumn ready stands

To yield the sceptre to thy hands.
