Sadie became very thoughtful.
At length she turned to Barney, and asked:
"What do you want—what do you expect of me?"
"You know where Hen is most likely to be found?" he said.
"I suppose so."
"Tell us, then; it may be the means of saving him from the gallows."
The girl started.
"Is there any danger of that?" she asked.
"Danger?" exclaimed Jake. "I should schust say so!"
"Do you think so?" she demanded, turning once more to Barney.
