To shape neck: Cast off 7 sts. Work in pattern to end of row. Keeping continuity of pattern, at neck edge dec. 1. st. every row to 16 sts. on needle. Continue even in pattern until armhole from first shaping measures 3 ins. (6 mos.—3½ ins.) (9 mos.—3½ ins.) ending at armhole edge.
To shape shoulder: At armhole edge cast off 8 sts. every alternate row twice.
