While we packed up each table and chair,
We all worked so hard, that when tea-time came round
We were ready the good things to share.
We got some nice paper, and pen, and some ink,
We printed “To Let” on the bill;
And we wrote on a card which we sent to friends,
“Pray live in this house, if you will.”
The postman soon brought a reply to our note,
Which asked if a stranger might call,
We told him to come as soon as he could,
