PAPERS ON THE CIVIL WAR.
The important feature of THE CENTURY MAGAZINE for the coming year—indeed, perhaps the most important ever undertaken by the magazine—will be a series of separate papers on the great battles of the War for the Union, written by general officers high in command upon both the Federal and the Confederate sides,—General Grant (who writes of Vicksburg, Shiloh, and other battles,) Generals Longstreet, McClellan, Beauregard, Rosecrans, Hill, Admiral Porter and others. The series open in the November CENTURY with a graphical illustrated article on the BATTLE OF BULL RUN, written by the Confederate general, G.T. Beauregard.
