These annual lectures, delivered at Harvard, must deal in some manner with “the essentials of free government and the duties of the citizen.” Mr Storey chose five unrelated subjects of vital present interest. These are: The use of parties; Lawlessness; Race prejudice; The labor question; Our foreign relations. The author is a lawyer and member of the American bar association. He has been president of the Massachusetts civil service reform association, the Anti-imperialist league, and of the National association for the advancement of colored people.
