In snowy robe and spotless veil
Stands the fair child at the altar rail.
"Of Holy Church what askest thou?"
"The FAITH," she murmured. Upon her brow
The bright drops fell. An angel smiled
In the face of God, all he said: "Thy Child!"

In snowy robe and spotless veil
Kneels the fair child at the altar rail.
"Of Holy Chinch what cravest thou,
On suppliant knee and with rev'rent brow?"
"My Lord, my Hope, in whom I live."
"'Tis thy Child!" said the angel. "Master, give!"

April 14th. Palm Sunday. Burial.

Palm-branch in hand, and with flower-crowned brow?"
"In robe baptismal yet undefiled,
MY LOVE!" Said the angel: "He waits thee, Child!"
