Plural Noun sent us the following riddle some time since, which is said to have been written by the Hon. George Canning. Some of our readers may like to try their skill on divining it:—
“A noun there is of plural number,
Foe to peace and tranquil slumber;
Now any noun that you may take
By adding s you plural make;
But if you add an s to this
Strange is the metamorphosis!
Plural is plural now no more,
And sweet what bitter was before.”
