She was the widow of the late Jonathan Edwards Porter, Esq., of Hadley, the daughter of Timothy and Mary Dwight, a sister of President Dwight of Yale College, and a descendant in a direct line from Thomas Hooker, the first minister in Hartford, Rev. James Pierpont of New Haven, and the first President Edwards.
