GRUGRU WORM
Gru"gru worm". (Zoöl.)
Defn: The larva or grub of a large South American beetle (Calandra palmarum), which lives in the pith of palm trees and sugar cane. It is eaten by the natives, and esteemed a delicacy.

2. To growl; to snarl in deep tones; as, a lion grumbling over his prey.
3. To rumble; to make a low, harsh, and heavy sound; to mutter; as, the distant thunder grumbles.
