“When? How long ago, I mean?”
“I don't know.”
“You are sure they killed him?”
“I seen them,” in a frightened whisper.
“And they were Indians?” he watched the child's face narrowly.
“Yes—”
“You are sure, Benny?”
Benny looked up into the old man's face doubtfully; he appeared to hesitate before answering.
“Yes, I am sure they was Indians.”
