Kei pupuri ahau, let me not hold, or, lest I should hold.

Kei kore ahau e pupuri, lest I should not hold. (This negative is only used in dependent sentences.)

Kaua e pupuri! do not hold!

§ 44. Infinitive Mood. This is merely the verb treated as a noun, always attended by one or other of the definitives.
