GOUTIERE, or Tire-point, the water ways of the decks.

GOUVERNAIL, the helm or rudder of a ship.

GOUVERNE ou tu as le cap, ou à tel air de vent, thus boy, thus! or, steddy as you go! the order to steer the ship exactly as she stems, or carries her head.

GOUVERNEMENT, the navigation or steerage of a ship.
