Faith, Hope, and Charity.

When Virtue her examples drew in heaven,
Seven steps to reach them were to mortals given:—
Hope, so desirous to be first, attains
Four of the Seven: but Faith five precepts gains:
Love is the chief, for Love the two excels,
And in the virtue of Perfection dwells.
