Except for those changes noted below, all misspellings in the text,
and inconsistent or archaic usage, have been retained.

[Pg vi]: ‘L’Envoi ... xlix’ replaced by ‘L’Envoi ... l’.
[Pg vii]: ‘XV ... Physicans’ replaced by ‘XV ... Physicians’.
[Pg xiv]: ‘afflicted with with what’ replaced by ‘afflicted with what’.
[Pg xxix]: ‘records of the the Smallpox’ replaced by ‘records of the Smallpox’.
