Hopeful and promising with buds and flowers;

Yet where is glowing Summer's long rich day,

That ought to follow faithfully expressed?

And mellow Autumn, charged with bounteous fruit,

Where is she imaged? in what favoured clime

Her lavish pomp, and ripe magnificence?
