Fernán Caballero (her real name was Cecilia Böhl de Faber), b. 1796 in Switzerland, d. 1877. She went to Spain (to Andalusia) at an early age, and became one of the most Spanish of Spanish women. In her writings she used the pseudonym of Fernán Caballero. The novels and tales of Fernán Caballero have always been popular in Spain.
