We in good consideration of the good service grete zele and good love that our trusty and welbeloved ALVAST DALMAA Knyght of Portugale hath doon and shewed unto us and oure full noble progenitors have maad(1) and creat(2) him now late(3) Therle(4) of AVERANCHE and over that(5) we have graunted unto the said ALVAST a pension of an C marc by yere during his life. We charge you that ye delivere unto him a cupp of golde of XL marc and C marc thereinne &c.
