Cast on 53 sts, work in seed st for 1¼ inches for front band. Work in pattern until 6 inches from beg ending with 2nd pattern row. NEXT 2 ROWS: Working in pattern bind off 16 sts at beg of each row—21 sts. Continue in pattern until center piece measures 2½ inches, ending with 2nd pattern row. Bind off in pattern. Sew both seams for back of cap. NECK EDGE: Right side facing, attach yarn at beg of pattern row leaving seed st section free, pick up and K 69 sts across lower edge of cap leaving other end of seed st section free. Work in seed st for 5 rows. NEXT 4 ROWS: Work 1 complete pattern. Work 2 more rows in seed st. Bind off same as neck edge of sacque. Lace ribbon through pattern at lower edge. Finish with rosettes.
