Nut Spice Cake
½ cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup molasses
Yolks 4 eggs
1 cup sour milk
2½ cups flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon clove
¼ nutmeg, grated
1 cup raisins, seeded and cut in pieces
½ cup currants
½ cup English walnut meats, cut in pieces
1½ teaspoons baking powder
Mix ingredients in the order given. This recipe makes two loaves.
