Tomato Soup
- 7 cans or quarts of tomatoes
- 31⁄2 qts. water
- 1 tablespoon peppercorns
- 4 large bay leaves
- 2 teaspoons cloves
- 2 large onions
- 1⁄3 cup salt
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1⁄3 cup sugar
- 7⁄8 cup butter
- 11⁄3 cups flour

Serves forty-five or fifty persons.
