Vinegar Sauce.

1 cupful of sugar.

1 level tablespoonful of flour.

1 cupful of boiling water.

1 tablespoonful of butter.

1/4 teaspoonful of salt.

2 tablespoonfuls of vinegar.

1/4 nutmeg, grated.

Mix the flour and sugar together, and pour the boiling water upon the mixture. Add the salt, butter, nutmeg, and vinegar, and simmer for ten minutes.
