Vocatives, as

(Peter, he said, come, please)

Interjection, as

Pastilan, caloóyi gad acó

(oh!, have pity of me)

Some independent phrases are connected with the rest of the thought by the adverb man, as

naabot camí, natutunod man an adlao

(when we arrived, the sun set; literally: we arrived, the sun also set).
