Original Book of Orders and letters of Commodore George Anson, during his voyage round the world in the Centurion, 1740-3. “Libro de Cuenta y Razon de D. Nicolas Gonzalez de Salazar, natural del Puerto de Santa Maria en los Reinos de España, hijo lexitimo de D. Josep[h] Ventura Gonzalez de Salazar, y de D^a. Victoria Maria Nieto de Tapia. Y fué casado con D^a. Francisca Antonia Enriques de Santoyo, hasta el dia Sabado 9 de Abril de 1740 años que se le llebó Dios para si, y se enterió el Domingo de Ramos. Fecho en este puerto de San Francisco de Paita, y comensado á trasladar por el antecedente desde 14 de Noviembre de este presente año. Y dicho libro consta de 233 foxas; el qual es de entera, fiel (sic) y creencia. The remainder of the volume to the end contains accounts and notes in English, relating to Lord Anson’s voyage and expedition to the Pacific, all entered on the blank leaves of what was originally a ledger, probably taken during a cruize from a Spanish vessel in 1739.
