SPECIFIC CHARACTER.

Heath, with beardless tips within the blossom: leaves grow scattered, and are blunt-ended: flowers grow in umbels, are white, sweet-scented, and bell-shaped: footstalks very long: branches few, and simple.

DESCRIPTION.

Stem shrubby, a foot high: branches few, nearly upright, simple, and thread-shaped.

Leaves grow scattered, sometimes by fours, bowed, appearing toothed by small glands at the edges, blunt-ended, flattish on their upper surface, and deeply furrowed beneath: footstalks long.

Flowers numerous, growing in umbels at the ends of the branches, and hanging down: footstalks thrice the length of the blossom, yellowish, clammy, and furnished with three minute floral leaves.
