Treatment: Dab the parts often with the following lotion:—
Recipe:
| Goulard’s Extract of Lead, | 1 drachm. |
| Tincture of Opium, | 1 ” |
| Water to | 6 ounces. |
| Mix. | |
Or the following ointment may be tried:—
| Goulard’s Extract of Lead, | 1 drachm. |
| Finely-powdered Boracic Acid, | 1 scruple. |
| Cream, | 1 ounce. |
| Mix. | |
Apply night and morning.
Some cooling medicine, as the following, does good:—
| Cream of Tartar, | 1 ounce. |
| Bicarbonate of Potash, | 1 ” |
| Milk of Sulphur, | 1 ” |
| Powdered Sulphate of Magnesia, | 1 ” |
From sufficient to cover a threepenny-piece to a teaspoonful[1] twice a day with food.
