SEWING CADDY
FLOWER: With Buttercup ch 4, join to form a ring, work 8 s c in ring. Do not join this or following rounds, place a marker at beg of rounds. 2nd and 3rd ROUNDS: 2 s c in each s c, sl st in next st, cut yarn. 4th ROUND: Attach Folly Pink, s c in same space, skip 1 s c, * 5 d c in next s c, skip 1 s c, s c in next s c (petal) repeat from * all around. 5th ROUND: 7 d c in center d c of petal, sl st in next s c, repeat from beg all around, join, sl st in back of next petal, ch 4 for loop for hanging, sl st on other side of same petal, ch 1, turn; work 5 s c over loop, cut yarn. Attach yarn on front of petal and work a ch 4 loop in same manner for thimble holder.
CENTER: With Buttercup work 1st 2 rounds same as center of flower. 3rd ROUND: 1 s c in next s c, 2 s c in next s c, repeat from beg all around. 4th ROUND: 1 s c in each s c. 5th ROUND: Sl st in every other st all around, cut yarn. Fill with cotton and sew in place to center of flower.
LEAVES: Work 2. With Lt. Jade ch 5, 4 d c in 1st st of ch, ch 1 to turn each row. 2nd ROW: Working in back loop of sts work in s c inc in 1st and last sts. 3rd ROW: 1 s c in each s c. 4th ROW: Work 2 s c tog at beg and end of row. 5th ROW: Work remaining 3 s c tog, cut yarn. Attach yarn between 2nd and 3rd rows at side, ch 5, sl st in corresponding st on other side of leaf for thread holder, ch 1, turn; then work 5 s c over loop, cut yarn. Work loop on other leaf to correspond.
STEM: With Lt. Jade ch 6, join to form a ring. 2nd ROUND: Work 2 s c in each st of ch. Do not join or turn following rounds and work in the back loop of sts. Work 1 s c in each s c until stem measures 25 inches, ch 5, skip 5 s c for opening for scissors, 1 s c in each remaining s c working 1 s c in each st of ch. Continue in rounds of s c until stem measures 36 inches from beg, cut yarn. Opening at top is for yardstick.
FINISHING: Sew flower in place to stem have opening for scissor on front of stem. Sew leaves in place as illustrated. Sew opening at lower edge closed.
