On a stone near the foot path on the north-west side, is the following inscription:
Whoever treadeth on this stone,
I pray you tread most neatly,
For underneath the same doth lye
Your honest friend Will. Wheatly.
The last inscription we shall mention is the following short one on the south-west side of the church.
