A Latin poem in Vergilian hexameters, composed about 930 by Ekkehard, a pupil in the monastic school at St. Gall, and afterwards revised by another monk of the same name. It is based on a lost German poem and preserves, with but little admixture of Christian and Latin elements, a highly interesting saga of the Hunnish-Burgundian cycle.
