He led him about, he instructed him,

He kept him as the apple of his eye.

As an eagle covers her nest around,

And hovers over her young,

Spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them up,

And beareth them aloft upon her pinions,

So the Lord, he alone, did lead them,

And there was no strange god with him—

See now that it is I,

And there is no god with me.
